Freedom 250 is a public–private partnership created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American Independence, culminating on July 4, 2026. It works alongside the White House's “Salute to America 250 Task Force” (Task Force 250), which is running a full year of festivities that began on Memorial Day 2025 and continue through the end of 2026.
The campaign's stated goals are to inspire a renewed love for American history, encourage citizens to experience the country firsthand, ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation for the nation's next 250 years, and invite Americans to pray and rededicate the country as One Nation Under God. It engages all levels of government, the private sector, nonprofits, educational institutions, and individual citizens.

On February 27, 2025, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) introduced the “Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act” (H.R. 1761), which would amend the Federal Reserve Act to require the Treasury to print $250 Federal Reserve notes featuring a portrait of Donald Trump — framed as a way to “symbolically recognize the President during the Semiquincentennial anniversary.”
The link to the 250th anniversary is deliberate: the $250 denomination mirrors the 250 years. Trump reportedly shaped the design himself — suggesting American flag colors and the 250th anniversary logo, with the reverse featuring Betsy Ross and Revolutionary War seamstresses.
